Angie

I am Angie, the 'keeper' of all the animals here & webmistress. I oversee breeding, cleaning, feeding, interaction, stimulation, excersize, banding, record keeping, dealing with babies, etc.

I am a (PIJAC) Certified Avian Specialist and am currently pursuing a Level 1 Aviculturist Certification from the American Federation of Avicuture (AFA).

Pixie

Pixie is our male Budgerigar. He is about 3 years old. He is a white based Budgie, and a great father! He will often take over the rearing of their young, which is quite unusual for Budgies. He is usually more laid back than Cosmo, but when there are babies in the nest, he will hold his ground!

Cosmo

Cosmo is our female Yellow based Budgerigar. She is also about 3 years old, and a great mother! She is usually a bit more fiesty than Pixie, but their roles seem to switch when babies are involved.

Sparx

Sparx is our Green Quaker Parrot. She is about 3 years old (Hatched in 2005), and is a DNA tested Female. She is the perfect balance of independent, feisty explorer & cuddle-bug!

She is now fully flighted, as well, and we are working on Flight Commands. We have her trained with the Aviator harness, and are going to begin Flight Training outdoors with the Flight Line, since we plan on one day allowing her to free-fly outside!

We are in the process of building an outdoor aviary for her to enjoy, supervised, while we're home.

I am also in the process of clicker training her with a Target Stick. She has a few props that she is working with, most recently is the dumbell, ring toss, coin bank & basketball hoop!

Sparx enjoys watching T.V. while in her cage, but while we're home; she gets to explore the house. She's become such a great flier! When I fly her outside, it only takes me 3 paces before she's already outflown me on a 6 foot bungee leash! So I've gotten her a 16 foot retractable leash.

She says "Good Bird," "Pretty Bird," "Step Up" does the wolf whistle occasionally and is in the process of perfecting a very sloppy "What are ya doin'?"

Her favorite food is Apples, this year (last year, Cucumbers) and her newest trick is the Barbell Lift!

Wet Pets

We currently have 2 running aquariums, a 55 gallon and a 20 gallon.

In the 55 gallon, we have a female Jack Dempsey Cichlid named Ziggy and an Electric Yellow Cichlid named Pogo.

In the 20 gallon, we have 6 Neon Tetra, a Figure 8 PufferFish, Barnacle Bumpernickle the suckerfish and our Dalmation Swordtail Molly who gave birth to about 9 little fish!!

We recently had to rehome Paco, our Pirhanna, but he gets a giant 180 gallon at his new home!
